Brief Overview:
Mild, basic cleanser without fragrance or parabens that won't dry out the sensitive skin or irritate it
Extended Review:
The very first product I would like to review for this blog is the Conditioning Wash from Shiseido's d Program line.
I love Shiseido products and constantly find myself wanting to try all their products. When I was in America, I could only safely use Shiseido's skincare without needing to worry about how my face will react. So, I find myself buying their products when I need something I know I can trust.
The d Program Conditioning Wash is a foaming-type face wash specifically formulated for sensitive skin. In fact, the d Program is Shiseido's sensitive skin care line. Fun fact, the "d" stands for delicate. (I will be reviewing more products from the line, so stay tuned!)
This is a very basic face wash. It's meant to clean your skin while also moisturizing at the same time. It leaves my skin feeling clean, but without the overly tight, dry feeling other foaming face washes might leave. If you add water in slowly, you can manage to foam the product up pretty well, so a little goes a long ways.
This is formulated without parabens and fragrance. Personally, I don't mind fragrance in a product, but it's not the best for sensitive skin so I do enjoy being able to clean my face without needing to worry this product will irritate it.
I have used other cleansers as well since first purchasing this product, but I keep coming back to this one because it's the most reliable cleaner I know. It does what I ask it to: clean without drying or breaking out my skin.
What this product will not do is remove makeup or heavy products. You really want to remove the day from your face before you use this as a last cleansing step. On the other hand, it makes for a good morning cleanser (if you've properly washed your face the night before).
If you're looking for a one-step makeup remover + face cleanser, this is not the product for you. On that note, you should always be removing your makeup before cleaning because if a cleanser is strong enough to both remove makeup and clean your face at the same time, it's probably too strong for sensitive skin.
At 2500 yen (~23 USD) before tax, this face wash is not the cheapest for what it can do. Even so, this face wash has a permanent space on my bathroom counter as I always buy another one to have on hand when it runs out. One of the things I'll miss about Japan is not being able to easily purchase this anymore!
